Next year, James Cameron's Titanic (1997) will get a theatrical 3D rerelease. While a preliminary street date for the eventual Blu-ray release of Cameron's film is yet to be revealed, the UK branch of 20th Century Fox Entertainment has already set one for Jean Negulesco's 1953 version, starring Barbara Stanwyck, Clifton Webb, and Audrey Dalton. The Blu-ray will hit retail shelves on April 2.
In 1954, Negulesco's Titanic won an Oscar Award for Best Writing, Story and Screenplay (Charles Brackett, Walter Reisch, Richard L. Breen).
