Pirates franchise went on to finish its worldwide theatrical box office run with a total of $1.039 billion. Released exclusively in Blu-ray combo packs until Nov. 15,
Capt. Jack Sparrow sold amost three times as many unit as the week's No. 2 overall seller.
Holding strong at No. 2 on the Blu-ray sales chart was
Green Lantern. Ryan Reynold's take on the DC Comics superhero managed plenty of green from Blu-ray as 56% of its total disc sales came from the HD format.
Dropping a couple of spots to No. 3 on the Blu-ray sales chart was two time Blu-ray sales champion
The Lion King. Similarly to
Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, the home video re-release of
Lion King is a Blu-ray combo pack exclusive.
The No. 4 spot on the Blu-ray sales chart belongs to Cameron Diaz's latest offering. The raunchy comedy,
Bad Teacher, had a successful run in the Blu-ray charts as it seduced 34% of its total disc sales from Blu-ray buyers.
