Captain America, as the name implies, is the most blatantly patriotic superheroes of all time, and when he first appeared in December of 1940, he made his impact by punching Nazi leader Adolph Hitler in the jaw. It was one year later that the United States found itself involved in the Second World War, and children across the country turned to
Captain America: The First Avenger to help their family and friends overseas defeat the Axis powers. Today, Marvel's latest comic-turned-movie star is out on Blu-ray, and just as patriotic as ever.
For the
Captain America: The First Avenger Blu-ray review , staff reviewer Martin Liebman commented, "The movie is playfully fun, an addictive watch, and loaded with action, but still smart enough to offer fair character development and a good plot line, both of which aid in enhancing the movie's dual finales and setting it up for future installments in the Marvel universe." He continued, "Paramount's Blu-ray 2D release of Captain America yields fantastic picture quality, a potent 7.1-channel lossless soundtrack, and a fine assortment of extras."

Winnie the Pooh continues to be one of Disney's most wholesome characters – and its easy to see why. Ever essence of his character is displayed right on the surface – from the indifferent mannerisms to his plump round belly and lack of pants – Pooh is exactly what you see, and nothing more. More so, Disney kept this bear in 2D – hand drawn, that is - and resisted the urge to turn this feature into a lifeless CGI bastardization (yes, there is a 3D Pooh bear out there). There will be no Emmy nods for this outing, but it's a very strong release that will grasp the attention of a child and warm a parent's heart at the same time.

Winnie the Pooh Blu-ray review , staff reviewer Kenneth Brown commented, "It's a sweet, charming addition to the Disney animated family; one young children and nostalgic adults will fall in love with. The studio's Blu-ray release is terrific too. It doesn't have much supplemental bite, that's for sure, but its video transfer is absolutely flawless and its DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround track is exceptionally engaging."
