In an early retail announcement, Sony Pictures Home Enterainment and Film District have indicated plans to release Don't Be Afraid of the Dark on Blu-ray next year. A remake of the 1973 telefilm, director Troy Nixey's supernatural thriller stars Bailee Madison (Brothers) as a young girl who discovers a malevolent presence living under her father's gothic Rhode Island mansion.
Produced by Guillermo Del Toro (Pan's Labyrinth) and written by Del Toro and Matthew Robbins (Mimic), the film also features Guy Pearce (Memento), Katie Holmes (Batman Begins), and Jack Thompson (Broken Arrow).
Update: Sony's Blu-ray will present the film in its original aspect ratio of 1.85:1 with a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio track. The disc contains the following bonus materials:
