Kung Fu Panda 2 Blu-ray

This December, Dreamworks Animation and Paramount Home Entertainment will bring Kung Fu Panda 2 to Blu-ray. The box-office success and sequel to 2008's Kung Fu Panda once again stars Jack Black (Tropic Thunder) as Po, a portly panda who uses his kung fu abilities to combat evil peacock Lord Shen (Gary Oldman, The Dark Knight).

Returning from the first Kung Fu Panda to help Po defeat Lord Shen are Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman, Hook), Tigress (Angelina Jolie, Salt), Monkey (Jackie Chan, Rush Hour), Mantis (Seth Rogen, The 40-Year-Old Virgin), Viper (Lucy Liu, Kill Bill: Volume 1), and Crane (David Cross, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind).

Kung Fu Panda 2 also features new vocal performances from Danny McBride (Pineapple Express), Michelle Yeoh (Sunshine), Dennis Haysbert (Jarhead), Victor Garber (Legally Blonde), and Jean-Claude Van Damme (JCVD).

Dreamworks and Paramount's Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack presents the film in its original aspect ratio of 2.39:1 (not 1.78:1 as reported in the official press release - a Paramount representative just confirmed the 1.78:1 figure was a misprint) with a 7.1 Dolby TrueHD audio track. In addition to the main film, the set contains an all-new adventure, Kung Fu Panda: Secrets of the Masters, as well as two free memberships to the online video game Kung Fu Panda World (each membership is valued at $5.95 and is good good for game play through April 2012).

The disc also has a number of bonus features, including:

• An episode of Nickeleodeon's Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness television series
• Kickin' It with the Cast featurette which highlights old and new cast members
• Three deleted scenes, hosted by director Jennifer Yuh Nelson
• Filmmakers' commentary with director Jennifer Yuh Nelson, producer Melissa Cobb, production designer Raymond Zibach, and supervising animator, kung fu choreographer, and story artist Rodolphe Guenoden
