Universal Pictures has revealed that it is planning to release on Blu-ray Brazilian director Flavio Frederico's Boca do Lixo a.k.a Boca (2010), starring Daniel de Oliveira and Hermila Guedes. The preliminary release date set by the studio is January 30th.
Boca chronicles the life of Hiroito Joanides, one of Brazil's most brutal gangsters and King of Boca do Lixo, a region of prostitution in downtown Sao Paulo in the early 1950s. Earlier this year, the film had its premiere at the Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival, where it won Best Cinematography (Adrian Teijido, Onde Andará Dulce Veiga?) and Best Editing (Vania Debs, Happy Desert) Awards.
