As the cinema component to the 2011 All Tomorrow's Parties U.S. Festival, the Criterion Collection has programmed theatrical screenings for seventeen films in its library.
From September 30th through October 2nd, films will be shown at the Berkeley Hotel on Ocean Avenue between Asbury and Sunset Avenues in Asbury Park, New Jersey 07712.
The following list details Criterion's full schedule for those dates. All showtimes are EST.
During this long weekend, Criterion will screen all of the films free of charge. This link connects directly to Criterion's official festival rundown, which has further information on the individual films as well as on the rules and guidelines for attending the festival.
Of particular note are the Quadrophenia, Being John Malkovich, Putney Swope, The Rock, Deconstructing Dad: The Music, Machines, and Mystery of Raymond Scott, and Belle de jour screenings, which suggest that Criterion is planning future home entertainment releases for these titles (or, in The Rock's case, a Blu-ray upgrade from Criterion's 2001 DVD edition). Further corroborating Putney Swope on Criterion Blu-ray or DVD is the following video showing Robert Downey, Sr., selecting titles from the Criterion Collection's product office; similar clips with Guillermo Del Toro and Michael K. Williams precluded Criterion's Blu-ray announcements for Cronos and Life During Wartime, respectively.
