This November, Shout Factory will release Warren Miller's Wintervention on Blu-ray. The documentary uses such skiing and snowboarding luminaries as Hugo Harrisson, Jossi Wells, Chris Davenport, J.J. Thomas, Reggie Crist, and Andy Mahre to illustrate the passion and excitement that winter sports engender.
From Shout's official press release:
"For the past year, we've spanned the globe — literally. From ski mountaineering near the North Pole to launching zodiac boats toward the snowy shores of Antarctica, we leave no corner of the frozen planet untouched in our search for a cure to what ails you. There are terrain parks stocked with the sport's top talent, peaks that define the Alaskan Chugach, and snow so deep it makes fat skis look skinny. This film is for those who drive with the windows down in January; who can often be found laughing while they shovel their walkways; and who consider their own back porches to be a season-long archive of local snowfall. Join others like you for a celebration of the one season that defines your year. Join all of us for a Wintervention."
While the disc's full technical specifications have not yet been detailed, Shout's Blu-ray presents the ninety-eight-minute-long film - Warren Miller Entertainment's sixty-first feature - alongside a 5.1 Surround audio track and the following special feature:
