Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring the Tom Hanks directed comedy Larry Crowne to Blu-ray on November 15th.
The rom-com stars Hanks as a down-and-out middle-aged man who is let go from his job at a big box retailer. With advice from his friends, he enrolls at a local community college where he strikes up a romance with his beautiful English professor (played by Julia Roberts). Cedric the Entertainer, Bryan Cranston, Wilmer Vilderamma and Gugu Mbatha-Raw give supporting performances.
Larry Crowne hit theaters last July but failed to establish itself as a light alternative to the summer's big budget popcorn flicks. It was met with generally negative reviews and pulled in a disappointing $35 million at the U.S. box office. The film ended a long absence from the director's chair for Hanks, whose previous effort That Thing You Do! bowed in 1996.
The Blu-ray for Larry Crowne will sport DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and a 2:40:1 aspect ratio. Special features have been confirmed to include:
