To celebrate the September 27th release date of John Williams' complete 1941 score, La-La Land Records will host a special screening of the film on Sunday, September 25th at Cinefamily's Silent Movie Theatre in Hollywood, California. Director Steven Spielberg's epic comedy about a Japanese submarine attempting to invade the California coastline was considered a rare misfire from the superstar filmmaker, though in recent years, it has developed a sizable cult following.
La-La Land will showcase a rare 35mm print - according to Cinefamily's website, it will be the 118-minute cut - and a panel of special guests will hold a Q&A following the screening. These guests are still TBD, but already fans of the film are hoping that the Q&A will hold some information about a possible 1941 Blu-ray.
The screening will begin at 7:30 PM at the Silent Movie Theater on 611 North Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles, CA 90036, and is scheduled to end around 10:00 PM. Copies of the score will be available for $30 purchase at the theater.
Tickets for the event are $10 and can be purchased through the link here.
