Lionsgate has announced that it will bring Robert Rodriguez's 2005 children's adventure The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl to Blu-ray on November 8th. Though the film was released in 3D theatrically, the release will not include a Blu-ray 3D option.
The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl stars Taylor Lautner (in his big screen debut) and Taylor Dooley as the title characters. The film centers on a 10 year-old boy named Max (Cayden Boyd) whose imagination becomes reality when he meets Sharkboy and Lavagirl, two warriors from the Planet Drool. Also starring in the film is George Lopez, David Arquette and Kristin Davis.
Special features for the release will include audio commentary by director/writer Robert Rodriguez and a making-of featurette. A SRP of $14.99 has been set.
