MPI Media Group will bring the 2010 crime film Mr. Nice to Blu-ray on October 11th. Based on the Howard Marks autobiography of the same name, the film centers on the Welsh drug smuggler, who was imprisoned after masterminding one the world's largest marijuana trafficking operations.
Rhys Ifans plays the title character alongside Crispin Glover, Chloë Sevigny and David Thewlis. Director Bernard Rose (Candyman) complemented his footage with archival snippets to recreate the 70's and 80's era which saw Marks was at height of his run. The film played at SXSW but did not receive a wide theatrical release.
Special features and technical specifications for Mr. Nice have yet to be announced. A SRP of $34.98 has been set with pre-orders now up on Amazon.
