This September, MGM will release Manhunter on Blu-ray. Previously available only as part of The Hannibal Lecter Collection, director Michael Mann's adaptation of the novel Red Dragon was the first film to cinematically depict villain Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lecter (Brian Cox, Troy); in Manhunter, Lecter advises FBI profiler Will Graham (William Petersen, To Live and Die in L.A.) during the investigation of a serial killer called "The Tooth Fairy." The film co-stars Dennis Farina (Out of Sight), Stephen Lang (Public Enemies), Joan Allen (Nixon), and Tom Noonan (Louie: The Complete First Season) as "The Tooth Fairy."
MGM's Blu-ray edition of Manhunter is a repackaging of the disc included inside The Hannibal Lecter Collection. The Blu-ray presents the theatrical cut of the film in its original aspect ratio of 2.39:1 with a DTS-HD Master Audio track. No special features accompany the film.
