Speaking at a Comic Con panel in promotion of
The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn, Steven Spielberg confirmed that the long rumored fourth installment of
Jurassic Park is in the works. According to the
LA Times, the director was quoted as saying:
"We have a story, I can happily announce... We have a writer who is writing the treatment and hopefully we are
going to make Jurassic Park 4 in all of your foreseeable futures — all of our foreseeable futures –hopefully,
in the next two or three years."
Spielberg launched the
Jurassic Park franchise in 1993 and served as an executive producer on the third film. He did not specify whether he would return to the director's chair for
Jurassic Park 4.
This news comes on the heels of Universal's announcement that all three
Jurassic Park films would get a Blu-ray release on October 25th.
