Universal has announced the Blu-ray release of their hit comedy Bridesmaids. The title will feature an unrated version of the film that adds six additional minutes of unseen footage. A DVD and digital copy of the theatrical version will also be included.
Bridesmaids hit theaters last May and exceeded expectations, pulling in $220 million worldwide at the box office. The Judd Apatow produced comedy featured a female heavy cast including Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Rose Bryne, Melissa McCarthy, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Ellie Kemper. Jon Hamm and Chris O'Dowd also made appearances. The film was directed by Paul Feig (The Office).
The film will be presented on a BD-50 disc with DTS HD Master Audio 5.1. Special features for the release have yet to be finalized.
