Anchor Bay and The Weinstein Company have announced the Blu-ray release of the 2011 indie comedy Submarine for Blu-ray. The film was written by Richard Ayoade (The IT Crowd), and marked his first time in the director's chair. It tells the story of Oliver Tate (Craig Roberts), a daydreaming 15-year old boy who is dealing with adolescent urges while trying to salvage his parents marriage.
Yasmin Paige (The Sarah Jane Adventures), Noah Taylor (Almost Famous), Paddy Considine (The Bourne Ultimatum) and Sally Hawkins (Happy-Go-Lucky) all make appearances. The film was produced by Ben Stiller and features original songs by Alex Turner of The Arctic Monkeys.
Submarine will be presented in DTS HD Master Audio 5.1 and include a Making-of featurette. A SRP of $39.99 and a release date of October 4th has been set.
