Lionsgate has announced the release of the horror parodies Scary Movie 2 and Scary Movie 3 for Blu-ray. Both Miramax comedies star Anna Faris (The Hot Chick) and Regina Hall (Death at a Funeral).
Scary Movie 2 was released back in 2001 and pokes fun at supernatural horror flicks such as The Exorcist and Stigmata. Its cast includes Shawn and Marlon Wayans, David Kross, Tori Spelling, Chris Masterson, Tim Curry, Chris Elliot and Andy Richter.
Scary Movie 3 hit theaters two years later and featured appearances from Charlie Sheen, Simon Rex, Leslie Nielsen, Anthony Anderson, Kevin Hart and George Carlin among others. Scary Movie 3 will be released in its theatrical version and an unrated version which has been titled Scary Movie 3.5.
Lionsgate has confirmed that both movies will be presented in DTS HD Master Audio 5.1. Special features will include audio commentaries, featurettes and deleted scenes.
