The French/Algerian action drama Outside the Law (Hors la loi) will be brought to Blu-ray courtesy of Cohen Media Group and distributor Palisades Tartan. The film, which was directed by Rachid Bouchareb (Days of Glory), was nominated at the 2011 Academy Awards in the foreign film category and also appeared at the Cannes, Tribeca and Toronto film festivals.
Outside the Law follows the lives of three Algerian brothers living in France and their involvement in Algeria's fight for independence. The film sparked controversy for its unorthodox retelling of the Sétif Massacre, in which French authorities and Algerian demonstrators clashed in the town of Sétif in 1945.
The Blu-ray for Outside the Law will feature DTS-HD Master Audio with both French and English language tracks. Bonus materials will include:
