Boost in Blu-ray Income for Image Entertainment

Image Entertainment Inc., which in addition to other labels distributes the prestigious Criterion Collection, has reported net income of more than $1.7 million for the fiscal year ended March 31. The improved financial performance is credited to a 71% boost in Blu-ray Disc income to $16.1 million from $9.4 million final year, TV promote income increasing 43% to $5.9 million from $4.1 million, and digital revenue, that includes transactional VOD, increasing 50% to $6.2 million. The only registered income decline was from DVD, down 19% to $57.5 million from $71.2 million final year.
