Alejandro Amenábar's horror thriller The Others has been confirmed for a September 20th Blu-ray release. The Miramax catalog title, which is currently marking its 10th anniversary, is being handled by Lionsgate and will debut as a Wal-Mart exclusive for $14.99.
The film takes place in a country mansion in Britain shortly after the end of World War II. Grace Stewart (Nicole Kidman), and her two children (Alakina Mann and James Bentley), both of whom are intolerant to sunlight, move into the house and quickly become witnesses to strange paranormal occurrences.
The Others was well-received when it was released back in 2001. The project marked the big-budget debut for Spanish director Alejandro Amenábar, who was coming off the worldwide acclaim of his previous film, Abre los Ojos (Open Your Eyes). Nicole Kidman won a Golden Globe, BAFTA and Saturn Award for her leading role in the film.
