In 1957, a group of boys from the northern Mexico city of Monterrey became the first non-U.S. team to win the Little League World Series. The 2009 feature, The Perfect Game tells the story of the Monterrey baseball club and their journey from Mexico to the Little League Championships, where they completed the only perfect game in the history of the tournament.
Directed by William Dear (Angels in the Outfield), the family film stars Clifton Collins Jr. as the team's coach and Cheech Marin as Padre Estaban. Moises Arias, Jansen Panettiere, Jake T. Austin, Ryan Ochoa and Carlos Padilla are a few of the actors who appear as Little Leaguers.
Image Entertainment has set an August 2nd release date for The Perfect Game with a SRP of $29.95. Special features have yet to be confirmed. Pre-orders are now available on Amazon.
