British distributors Optimum Home Entertainment are set to release Japanese director Nagisa Ôshima's Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (1983), as a Double Play Edition, on August 8. In 1984, the film won the Readers' Choice Award for Best Film at the Kinema Junpo Awards. Technical specs and region coding status for this release are unknown at the moment.
