One of last April's sleeper hits at the box office, the comedy Madea's Big Happy Family will arrive on Blu-ray this August, courtesy of Lionsgate Films. Filmmaker Tyler Perry (For Colored Girls) pulls quadruple duty on the film, producing, writing, directing, and starring as Madea, the sassy matriarch of a troubled family. The film co-stars Loretta Devine (Death at a Funeral) and Bow Wow (The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift).
Lionsgate has not confirmed all of the technical specifications and supplements (though the press release does say that four featurettes will be on the disc) for the Madea's Big Happy Family Blu-ray, save for the fact that the film will receive 1080p remastering in its original aspect ratio of 1.85:1 and that a digital copy will accompany the Blu-ray disc.
