Warner Home Video is bringing Gantz, the successful live-action Japanese adaptation of Hiroya Oku's manga series, to Blu-ray on August 30th. Ranked #1 at the Japanese box office for four consecutive weeks, Gantz tells the action-packed tale of two teens (Kazunari Ninomiya and Kenichi Matsuyama) who attempt to save a man from an oncoming train, only to wake up in a strange apartment dominated by a mysterious black sphere. Tasked with hunting down aliens, they're soon given advanced weaponry and returned to Earth.
Few details are available for the 3-disc Blu-ray edition, but the set includes a single dual-layer Blu-ray disc and two standard DVDs. Interviews and a theatrical trailer fill out the release's supplemental package.
