With no new major title to push the format, Blu-ray saw a large year on year fall. Single titles did well, but overall the format was down 44.5% for the week compared to DVD which had a slightly smaller fall of 39.6%. Total Blu-ray revenue for the week was $20.05m for market share of 19%.
The week in question had only one major new release, South Park Season 14 which saw 22% of sales on BD. With the week just passed having a major release in the shape of The Green Hornet from Sony Picture Home Entertainment, the market share should be show gains given the target demographic of the film.
