Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes Bullish on Physical Media

Despite his long term backing of digital downloads and streaming, Jeff Bewkes has also backed physical media, more speicifically Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray, to play a big role in the future of home video. He said that extras on DVDs and BDs are part of the physical media experience:
"DVDs will get better and better because they will have high-def … and all the extra stuff, if you want,"
The well respected CEO said that while the features could be pushed down via digital delivery, it would be impractical to do so in 1080p full HD or in 3D. This could lead to enthusiasts opting for the physical disc, while casual moviegoers may opt for a convenient streaming option as long as their internet connection is able to handle full HD.

All-in-all Bewkes maintains that Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray are the optimal delivery method for full HD 3D to the home with full HD extras and advanced lossless audio.
