For the week ending 4/24/11, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 remained on top of the Blu-ray sales chart. Potter had an impressive debut for the Blu-ray format last week, as it managed to generate 46% of total unit sales. The previous Harry Potter release, The Half Blood Prince, obtained a 24% share from Blu-ray sales in its initial week. This week Blu-ray's portion of the overall sales market for Deathly Hallows: Part 1 resulted in a strong 37%. In contrast, The Half Blood Prince only reached 6% of total units sold in its second week of release.

Oscar winner The King's Speech opened at number three in the Blu-ray sales chart, but received a solid 26% stake for the format. It is interesting to note that last year's Oscar winner The Hurt Locker rocked the top of the Blu-ray sales chart producing 35% of its first week sales on the high-definition format.

Hanging strong at the second spot was Disney's animated hit Tangled with a 22% share. Meanwhile, box office disappointment Gulliver's Travels did not fare much better in its home video debut with a weak 17% share for Blu-ray, and 8th place on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart.
