Independent distributors Cinema Guild, who recently entered the Blu-ray market with Jeff Malmberg's Marwencol, have revealed that they will release acclaimed Portuguese director Manoel de Oliveira's O Estranho Caso de Angélica a.k.a The Strange Case of Angelica
(2010) on Blu-ray on August 2. Last year, the film was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Technical specs and region coding status for this release are unknown at the moment.
Update: Cinema Guild has moved the release date to September 20th and set a SRP of $34.95. They will present the film in its original aspect ratio with DTS HD Master Audio 5.1. Special features will include:
Douro, Faina Fluvial (Labor on the Douro River) (1931, 20 minutes): The first film from Manoel de Oliveira, in a new 2K restoration.
