Public Media Works Inc. has test-launched a new brand of movie rental kiosks in Southern California. This brand, named Spot, offers Blu-ray discs at a cost of $1 plus tax (same price as DVD). If two movies are rented together, the price is $1.78 , or 89 cents per movie – 41% cheaper than existing kiosks such as Redbox (which rents BDs for $1.50 a day). The kiosks have capacity for up to 1,400 discs and feature a 32-inch HD display.

As you can see from the above image, it is possible to retun a disc through the Express Return slot while someone else is browsing the selection for rental.
