Blu-ray.com doesn't usually publish news about itself (except when a new site feature is added - see just below), but today the occasion deserves it – staff reviewer Martin Liebman just published his review of the Blu-ray release of
I Spit on Your Grave, which is also his 1,000th review for the site. All Blu-ray.com members and contributors are invited to join in congratulating him.
Going from the
database, Marty's first review was for
28 Days Later in October 2007 (which already ruffled some feathers at the time with its 4.5 grade for video). He currently handles titles from Anchor Bay, Blue Underground, Echo Bridge, Paramount, Sony and Summit, as well as 3D Blu-ray reviews from all studios.
For those interested in trivia, he has given a perfect 5 rating in all five categories (Movie, Video, Audio, Extras and Overall) to only three titles:
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,
The Godfather Collection and
Star Trek. On the other hand, the lowest grade he's given to a Blu-ray from a major studio was for
Rest Stop: Dead Ahead, which got a dismal 0.5 Movie, 1.5 Video, 1.5 Audio, 0.5 Extras and 1.0 Overall. Luckily most discs are much better than that.
