Justified: The Complete First Season. Today, Sony is releasing the first season of the highly acclaimed show on Blu-ray right before the debut of season two early next month.
The revisited
Ocean's Eleven series was so successful in the box office that its no surprise that other movie producers would try to follow in its footsteps. However, what is surprising is that they would be so brash as to slap a "this is an Ocean's knockoff" quote right on the cover of the Blu-ray release. But that's exactly what Sony did for the release of
Takers today.
Staff reviewer Martin Liebman commented in his
Blu-ray review of Takers, "Ultimately, Takers is a, forgive the pun, take-it-or-leave-it sort of picture, but chances are genre fans will want to give it a go." He continues, "The disc sports top-of-the-line technical specs and a fair assortment of extras."
If you aren't a fan of Ryan Reynolds, then the prospect of watching him for 95 minutes straight without interruption is probably not going to entice you to watch today's Blu-ray release of
Buried. But for those who are fans, or at least, impartial about Reynolds, those 95 minutes may be the actor's finest work.
For the
Blu-ray review of Buried, staff reviewer Jeffrey Kaufman commented, "One of the most brilliantly staged films in recent memory, Buried manages to allude to America's current global situation while depicting a horrifyingly personal story. The film has some dramatic problems, but Reynolds gives a visceral performance, and Cortés is a director to keep an eye on."
