The European version of Oppo's BDP-93 player, model number BDP-93EU, is now up for preorder at the website of
Oppo BD UK Ltd. Features and technical specifications are identical to those of the BDP-93, with the exception of region coding, which will be set as "2" for DVD and "B" for BD. Price has been set at £499.00 including VAT.
Oppo BD UK will sell to customers in continental Europe; the player will also be available for purchase from authorized local retailers in a dozen European countries.
Last year, Oppo Digital had announced a European product launch, only to cancel it two weeks later (see Blu-ray.com,
October 15 and
October 28, 2009).
