The last time the
Back to the Future Trilogy was released, there was a huge uproar from the hundreds of thousands of fans who had purchased the set only to discover that the framing had been significantly altered during the re-mastering process. Thankfully, Universal has learned from those mistakes and is delivering the futuristic (and historic) trilogy in high definition for today's Blu-ray release.
For the
Blu-ray review of Back to the Future: 25th Anniversary Trilogy, staff reviewer Jeff Kaufman commented, "There has rarely been a franchise in the history of Hollywood which maintained its charm and luster over all of its entries as did the Back to the Future trilogy." He continued, "The only real "issue" is occasional artifacting; otherwise these look splendid, better by far than any previous home video release."
The four films that compose the
Alien Anthology are extremely different in their own right, and it would be difficult to link them if it wasn't for that pesky alien race that always seems to be getting in the way. Oh, and the fact that these films represent some of the best monster movies of all time. Packaged together as a definitive collection, the
Alien Anthology Blu-ray release contains all four entries in the series along with more extras than ever amassed together before.
Staff reviewer Casey Broadwater commented in his
Blu-ray review of Alien Anthology, "As a whole, the Alien Anthology is a stunner on Blu-ray and well worth the wait." He continues, "This is an amazing collection that improves on the nigh-perfect Alien Quadrilogy DVD release in every way, and is well-deserving of our highest recommendations!"
Sex and the City 2 may have not been the smash hit of the first, but as sequels go, it made a respectable showing at the box office. Ladies, you already know you want it so go ahead and pick it up for a movie night with the girls. Guys, tread lightly on this one – your wife/girlfriend has sat quietly through the fart scene in
Blazing Saddles more times than you can count. You owe her one.
