At the CEDIA fair, Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America introduced its newest Diamond 3D 1080p full-HD home theater projector. It is powered by an SXRD reflective liquid-crystal optical engine and boasts up to 120,000:1 full on/full off dynamic contrast. For 3D viewing, it uses IR sensors communicating with active-shutter glasses.
Other features include:
- Lens (six-piece, 17-cluster structure) with extra-low dispersion glass with 1.8x power zoom, focus and lens shift (100% vertical and 45% horizontal)
- Auto-iris function
- 120Hz refresh rate
- Color management system with independent management function
- Low noise: 19dBa
- Two HDMI™ version 1.4 inputs with support of 3D signals
- RS232 support
- Lamp life: 4,000 hours (estimated) in low conservation mode (with one-year limited warranty)
Availability is estimated for November. Price has not been set yet, but it expected to be in the $5K-$10K region.
