Alice in Wonderland 3D Blu-ray with Sony Starter Kit Now, Separately in December

Like Samsung a few days ago (see Blu-ray.com, September 17), Sony is now shipping a new 3D Starter Kit, featuring two pairs of active-shutter glasses and an exclusive copy of the 3D Blu-ray of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. This exclusivity deal with Sony 3D equipment ends after 60 days. Then, on December 7, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment will release the Alice 3D BD for general availability.



Sony's new 3D Starter Kit

The December release will consist of two discs: the same 3D Blu-ray from the Sony 3D Starter Kit and the 2D version, already available to consumers as of this past June. Suggested list price is $34.99. Full retail is $44.99. Audio and video specifications mirror the previous 2D release.
