Eagle Rock Entertainment has announced two concert Blu-ray titles from two very different areas of the rock universe - heavy metal and alternative rock:
Black Label Society: Doom Troopin' Live – The European Invasion and
The Pixies: Acoustic & Electric Live. Both will be available to buy on August 24 (a day earlier in the UK).
Black Label Society: Doom Troopin' Live – The European Invasion features the band of Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne guitarist) performing before a Paris crowd in the midst of a sold out 2005 tour, in support of the
Mafia album. Extensive bonus features include four tracks from the Astoria show in London, the 50-minute "Backstage Pass" on-the-road documentary, music videos for "Suicide Messiah," "In This River," and "Fire It Up," and a making-of video of "Suicide Messiah."
After 10 years of self-imposed silence, singer/songwriter/guitarist Frank Black, bassist/vocalist Kim Deal, guitarist Joey Santiago, and drummer David Lovering reunited in 2004.
Pixies: Acoustic & Electric Live captures two 2005 concerts, at the Paradise club in Boston and their first ever all-acoustic performance, filmed at the Newport Folk Festival. As a bonus, fans can enjoy a Newport photo gallery, the Newport rehearsal featurette, with an acoustic version of "Debaser" that did not make the final set list, and original home video footage of a live 1986 show at TT The Bear's in Boston.
