Blu-ray.com has added a new feature that will help users plan their Blu-ray purchases: the
Blu-ray release calendar. It is much more than a simple list of titles sorted by release date: it shows all the Blu-ray releases from the period you want, at a glance. Just click on the year and month you are looking for, and the titles will be displayed. The new deals tracker has also been improved.
The release calendar is on the "Movies" page (third option on the homepage), under "Releases." The list is fully customizable: you can show the results as a list or in a grid of cover images (selectable between 4, 5 or 6 covers per row). And you can sort results by popularity, title or year. The system saves the settings you last used as your default.
Additionally, all title entries link to the calendar. If, for example, you're looking at the entry for
Saving Private Ryan and you want to know what other titles come out on Blu-ray at the same time. You just click on "May 4, 2010" (which now has a hyperlink) and you'll jump straight to
that week.
The
New Deals tracker has also been improved to allow filtering of "New Lowest Prices" and making it easier to find "Popular Releases" so you only get the very best deals.
