The Japan branch of Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has announced that on July 14 it will release the Studio Ghibli production
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, directed by Hayao Miyazaki. Disc specs include 2.0 Japanese and English audio (uncompressed for Japanese, Dolby Digital for English) and subtitles in English. A US release is expected for later in the year.
Special features include:
- Audio commentary by Evangelion co-creator/Nausicaä key animator Hideaki Anno and Nausicaä assistant director Kazuyoshi Katayama
- Storyboards (Picture-in-picture)
- Conversation between Ghibli producer Toshio Suzuki and Anno, recorded in December 2009
- Shooting script
- Trailers
Also included will be a reproduction of the 1984 book
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind Guide Book.
