Last night, when Jeff Bridges finally won his Oscar , he offhandedly drew from one of his most memorable (and most quotable) characters, The Dude: "Well, you know, [it's been] ups and downs, strikes and gutters, man."
The Big Lebowski, however, is still unreleased on Blu-ray yet – as are most of Bridges's other movies, spanning four decades under directors such as Peter Bogdanovich, Michael Cimino, the Coen brothers, Francis Ford Coppola, Terry Gilliam, John Huston, Ridley Scott or Peter Weir.

On the other hand, there are dozens of Bridges titles still unavailable on Blu-ray. Hopefully the studios will take this opportunity and release at least some of them in high definition.
