Calendar Bug Briefly Strikes "Fat" PS3

The PS3 got the Y2K bug ten years later. On Monday, March 1, a calendar-related glitch struck older PS3 consoles. The internal clock of the console incorrectly considered 2010 as a leap year, preventing users from joining the PlayStation Network and playing certain games that used trophies. However, Blu-ray playback wasn't affected. The glitch has sorted itself out without the need for a system update.
Owners of a "fat" PS3 are advised to check the date on their consoles and, if necessary, reset it manually. Other steps are also required to regain trophies.
