Paramount Home Entertainment has set April 20 as the Blu-ray release date of The Lovely Bones. This fantasy/thriller drama, based on a famous novel by Alice Sebold and directed by Peter Jackson, had garnered a lot of expectation but the reception by critics and audiences was lukewarm. Nevertheless, it won Stanley Tucci an Oscar nomination in the "Actor in a Supporting Role" category.
The only special feature listed is Filming The Lovely Bones, an extensive production diary in 15 segments, hosted by Jackson and Philippa Boyens, the film's co-screenwriter, following the film's shoot and post-production work on the visual effects. It will be exclusive to Blu-ray.
