Jam and Icon Home Entertainment announced today that the UK Blu-ray edition of
Paranormal Activity, scheduled for release on March 22, will exclusively include bonus content absent from the US edition (which was criticized for the paucity of its special features, reduced to an alternate movie ending).
Bonus features for the UK edition include:
- Audio commentary by director Oren Peli
- Alternate ending (with optional audio commentary): the alternate ending has been made available on other releases, but Peli recorded an audio commentary on the alternate ending, exclusively for the UK.
- Film your own Paranormal Activity Short Film Finalists
During the theatrical release of
Paranormal Activity, UK fans were challenged to shoot their own paranormal short film using the same home-made techniques applied in 'Paranormal Activity'. All of those three-minute entries are available on Icon's
Prepare to Be Scared YouTube channel. The entries, judged by Icon Home Entertainment and Oren Peli, were whittled down to a shortlist of 10 finalists. The overall winner was then selected by Peli, who filmed an exclusive video introduction to the winning short film, detailing why that particular entry was chosen. All 10 winning short films, along with Oren Peli's video introduction, will be exclusively included on the UK Blu-ray release of
Paranormal Activity.
