Universal Studios Home Entertainment has finally put up cover art for the upcoming rerelease of Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series Box Set, which will street on April 6. According to the description by the studio, the packaging consists of "Digipaks with outer box". This release will contain the direct-to-video movie The Plan, not included in the previously-released Limited Edition set.

A gross estimate of the dimensions of the box set puts it at around 5.5" (width) x 7.5" (height) x 5.5" (depth). The Limited Edition box set is 7.5" (width) x 8.5" (height) x 7.5" (depth).

Owners of the Limited Edition who want to obtain the new packaging can contact Universal Consumer Relations via their online contact form or email and wait for instructions. This offer is valid for US residents only.

BSG enthusiasts have remarked that this purportedly complete set isn't actually complete, as it doesn't include the Face of the Enemy webisodes. AV site The Digital Bits looked into the matter and all but confirmed that, as this material was produced specifically for webcasting and at least two of the actors on The Face of the Enemy didn't appear in the series proper, contract and rights issues made the publication of these webisodes on disc impractical.

The first edition did not come with a booklet listing the contents per disc. The Bits has confirmed that, unfortunately, no booklet will be included in this new box set either.

On the other side of the Atlantic, the UK release of Battlestar Galactica also has received a makeover. Amazon UK informs that the packaging has now changed from a metal tin to a card box, and that "customers who order this item now will receive it in the new packaging." There is no information as to whether The Plan is included. Probably not, as it is scheduled for release separately on May 10.
