Blu-ray Sales, Jan. 11-17: Hurt Locker Explodes (Update)

Summit Entertainment's 'The Hurt Locker' was the top-selling title on Blu-ray during the week ended January 17, according to Nielsen VideoScan First Alert. The top seller for the previous week, 'Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs', fell to seventh place, while 'The Hangover' showed impressive legs in its fifth week and was again number two.

Blu-ray percentages for the week's new releases were as follows: Overall, BD sales revenue was $18.94 million, up 79.36% from the same week last year.

Packaged-media sales revenue was $159.94 million, up 11.56% year-on-year. Blu-ray accounted for 11.8% of that revenue.
