Warner Home Video has officially announced the release on Blu-ray of Ralph Bakshi's 1978 animated movie '
The Lord of the Rings', which will hit store shelves on April 6, tying in with Peter Jackson's '
The Lord of the Rings: The Motion Picture Trilogy'. It will include a new featurette, titled "Forging through the Darkness: The Ralph Bakshi Vision for The Lord of the Rings," and a digital copy.
Audio will be Dolby TrueHD 5.1.
