After opening stores in Bridgeport, Denver, Toronto, and Pittsburgh, Vinegar Syndrome, the
titan of cult film restoration and distribution, has arrived in Minneapolis. The company has
expanded their shopping options, planting themselves in the Midwest to deliver all the goodies
the brand is known for. Vinegar Syndrome Minneapolis opened their doors this weekend for a soft open of their new
location, welcoming the faithful and the curious into a business that's all about physical
media goodness, emerging as a mix of hip record store and old Suncoast, only most of the
covers and displays favor all the delightfully depraved imagery the fanbase has come to
expect from the company.
While limited in square footage, Vinegar Syndrome Minneapolis contains an enormous
amount of movies and swag for sale. There's the usual in Blu-ray/UHD offerings, and the
selection is not limited to Vinegar Syndrome titles, allowing customers to also grab offerings
from other labels. A VHS section is present as well, keeping the once mighty home video
option alive. There's a record section and collectable toys for sale, along with t-shirts loaded
up with graphic horror imagery to revive the old Rotten Cotton days. Additional items, such
as bags, books, and air fresheners (promising a "Vinegar Syndrome Smell") are also
available to purchase. And there are used discs for sale, with the store open to buying old
titles for "cash or store credit."
Vinegar Syndrome Minneapolis is just getting started, and it's a wonderful experience to visit
a physical media store again that's not largely committed to selling music. There's so much
here packing the shelves, and for those who can't wait, new monthly releases from Vinegar
Syndrome are in stock, offering a direct route to BD/UHD escape when shipping just isn't fast
enough. Because when you want "Faces of Death IV," YOU WANT IT NOW.
