Blu-ray Sales: September 20-26: Toy Story 5 Reaches for the Top of the Charts

For the week that ended on September 26th, Walt Disney Home Entertainment's Toy Story 5 topped the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its debut. The fifth entry in the beloved Pixar franchise opened in June 2026 to positive reviews and box office success—in its first weekend alone, it grossed over $310 million worldwide, a Pixar record—eventually grossing over $480 million domestically and almost $1.5 billion globally. This week, Toy Story 5 had an HD share of 63% and 20% of units sold from the 4K UHD format (which was available only as a Limited Edition SteelBook), enough to also make it the week's top 4K UHD release.

Debuting in second place on the Blu-ray-only chart is Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Evil Dead Burn. The latest entry in the long-running horror franchise is a sequel to the surprise hit Evil Dead Rise, and like its predecessor did in 2023, it received generally positive reviews when it opened in July 2026. Financially, the film also did well, grossing over $32 million domestically and over $72 million globally against a reported $20 million budget. This week, Evil Dead Burn sold 40% as many Blu-ray units as Toy Story 5, with an HD share of 67% and 27% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

And debuting in third place on the Blu-ray-only chart is Paramount Home Media Distribution's Scary Movie (2026). Just as the Scream franchise released its sixth film with the title Scream in 2022, the Scary Movie spoof franchise did likewise, creating a mess for home video collectors and film historians. The good news for fans of the series was the return of the Wayans family for the first time in 25 years, and while this entry opened in June to largely negative reviews, it enjoyed box office success, grossing over $108 million domestically and over $231 million globally, the highest for the series since the first film. This week, Scary Movie sold 21% as many Blu-ray units as Toy Story 5, with an HD share of 50% and 8% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Elsewhere on the charts, Angel Studios' Blu-ray of Young Washington debuted at No. 4 on the Blu-ray-only chart, while Warner's Interview with the Vampire, which was released on 4K UHD this week, rose up to No. 5. Paramount's Blu-ray of Landman: Season Two (2025-2026) debuted at No. 8, while outside the top ten, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment's Blu-ray of Outlander: Season Eight (2026) came in at No. 11. Finally, on the 4K UHD chart, Crunchyroll's Suzume 4K came in at No. 14, while Decal Releasing's 4K UHD combo pack for I Love Boosters 4K debuted at No. 15.
