For the week that ended on September 19th, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's
Supergirl (2026) topped the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its debut. The latest live-action DC Comics film opened in June 2026 to mixed reviews and poor box office, grossing just over $72 million domestically and only about $126 million worldwide (on a reported budget of more than $170 million, before any promotion) to become a box office bomb. Happily, things look better for the film on the home video front, where this week,
Supergirl had an HD share of 51% and 19% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
Remaining in second place on the Blu-ray-only chart in its second week is Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's
Batman: Knightfall – Part 1: Knightfall. The latest direct-to-video animation from DC is the first part of a trilogy, adapting a lengthy story arc in the comics, which ran from 1993-1994. The
second part is already available to pre-order. This week,
Batman: Knightfall – Part 1: Knightfall sold 89% as many Blu-ray units as
Supergirl, with an HD share of 69% and 20% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
And remaining in third place on the Blu-ray-only chart in its second week is Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's
Minions & Monsters. The third film in the
Minions spin-off series (and seventh film in the overall
Despicable Me franchise) opened in July 2026 to positive reviews, but while it grossed over $183 million domestically and over $523 million globally (on a reported $85 million budget), that is substantially less than the previous film,
Minions: The Rise of Gru, which grossed over $370 million domestically and over $940 million globally back in 2022. This week,
Minions & Monsters sold 81% as many Blu-ray units as
Supergirl, with an HD share of 44% and 10% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
The week's top 4K UHD release was Toy Robot Video's
Masters of the Universe (1987). Originally released on Blu-ray by Warner Bros. back in
2012 in its 106-minute theatrical version only, Toy Robot's
remastered Blu-ray or
4K UHD releases include a second Blu-ray or 4K UHD disc with a 110-minute extended version of the film, both DTS-HD MA 5.1 and 2.0 audio tracks, Dolby Vision HDR on the 4K UHD edition and both new and archival extras. Coming in sixth place on the Blu-ray-only chart (behind only five new and recent releases),
Masters of the Universe still sold 65% as many Blu-ray units as
Supergirl, with an HD share of 91% and 77% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
Elsewhere on the charts, Arrow Video's remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD releases of
Tequila Sunrise propelled that film back into the top ten Blu-rays, coming in at No. 9 on the Blu-ray-only chart and No. 6 on the 4K UHD chart. While the film's HD share for the week is not available, it also cracked the top five 4K UHD titles by market share, with 89% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.
