For the week of September 28th, Arrow Video has a remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD release for Fred M. Wilcox's Forbidden Planet (1956), starring Walter Pidgeon, Anne Francis, Leslie Nielsen, Warren Stevens, Jack Kelly and Richard Anderson. Sourced from a new 4K master in the original 2.55: 1 CinemaScope aspect ratio, Arrow presents Forbidden Planet with a choice of original lossless mono, original Perspecta stereo or DTS-HD MA 5.1 remixed audio, with Dolby Vision HDR on the 4K UHD edition. Extras include a new audio commentary with film historians Kim Newman and Barry Forshaw, a new appreciation of the film's score by historian and composer Neil Brand, the bonus feature film The Invisible Boy (1957) and The Thin Man episode "Robot Client" (1958), both also featuring Robby the Robot, two excerpts from MGM Parade featuring Robby the Robot and Walter Pidgeon, the archival documentaries Watch the Skies!: Science Fiction, The 1950s and Us and Amazing!: Exploring the Far Reaches of Forbidden Planet, the featurette Robby the Robot: Engineering a Sci-Fi Icon, deleted scenes, lost footage, image galleries and a theatrical trailer. Limited edition content includes a "collectors' booklet containing new writing by critics Frank Collins and Johnny Mains, plus select archival material" a double-sided, fold-out poster and a reversible cover with a choice of two original artworks. Also coming from Arrow is a 4K UHD release for Doug Liman's Go (1999), starring Sarah Polley, Desmond Askew, Katie Holmes, Jay Mohr, William Fichtner and Scott Wolf. Sourced from a new 4K master by Sony Pictures, Arrow presents Go with Dolby Vision HDR and original DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio. Extras include a new audio commentary with film critics Bryan Reesman and Max Evry, new interviews with screenwriter / co-producer / second unit director John August and actor Desmond Askew, archival audio commentary with Doug Liman and and editor Stephen Mirrione, John August's short film God (1998) ("[also] featuring Melissa McCarthy, shot using the short ends of film stock from the production of Go with much of the same crew, presented in high definition for the first time on home video"), with optional audio commentary by August, McCarthy and editor Douglas Crise, an image gallery and a theatrical trailer. Limited edition content includes a "collectors' booklet featuring new writing on the film by David Michael Brown and Michelle Kisner, and original production notes" a slipcover and a reversible cover with a choice of two original artworks. New on Blu-ray from Music Box Films is Jean-Pierre Dardenne and Luc Dardenne's Young Mothers (Jeunes mères), starring Babette Verbeek, Elsa Houben, Janaina Halloy Fokan, Lucie Laruelle and Samia Hilmi.

Description: In a shelter in Liège, Belgium, a group of young women face the challenges and exhilarations of motherhood. Facing an uncertain future, the new mothers aspire to break free of the past and end the cycles of neglect, abuse, and abandonment that have defined their young lives. Jessica tries to understand why her biological mother did not keep her; Perla buckles at having to raise her child alone; Julie must overcome her drug habit once and for all; and Ariane faces the daunting recognition that what's best for her daughter may be another family. The latest acclaimed film from master brother directing duo Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, Young Mothers is a hopeful study of women on the brink of new life.

Music Box Films' Blu-ray of Young Mothers contains DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio with optional English subtitles. Extras include a Q&A with Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne from the Institut Français London, an image gallery and a theatrical trailer. Also included is a booklet with an essay by Lillian Crawford.

New on Blu-ray from Circle Collective is Lilian T. Mehrel's Honeyjoon, starring Ayden Mayeri, Amira Casar, José Condessa, Antonio Maria, Tiago Sarmento and Teresa Faria.

Description: In this light-and-dark comedy, June and her Persian-exiled mom Lela take a trip to the romantic Azores islands for a grief anniversary, with contrasting ideas about how to grieve, how to live, and how tiny June's bikini should be. New on Blu-ray from Utopia Distribution is Nastasya Popov's Idiotka, starring Anna Baryshnikov, Camila Mendes, Mark Ivanir, Benito Skinner, Owen Thiele, Saweetie and Julia Fox.

Description: Margarita, a disgraced fashion designer, enters a reality show with a six-figure cash prize to save her grandmother's West Hollywood apartment. But as the competition intensifies, the show's slick producer pushes her to spin her family's struggle into spectacle, forcing Margarita to decide whether to play along or take control of her own narrative, one unhinged look at a time.

Utopia's Blu-ray of Idiotka includes three Q&As: one from the New York opening at Crown Hill Theater, another from USC and a third from the Los Angeles opening at American Cinematheque's Los Feliz 3, a film photo gallery and a trailer.

New on Blu-ray from Universal is Happy's Place: Season Two (2025-2026), starring Reba McEntire. The two-disc set contains all 18 episodes, with DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio.

Also new on Blu-ray from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment is Law & Order: Special Victims Unit: Season Twenty-Seven (2025-2026), starring Mariska Hargitay and Ice-T. The four-disc set contains all 21 episodes, with DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio.

Coming to 4K UHD from Universal is the Frankenstein: Complete Legacy Collection (1931-1948), a five-disc set including the 4K UHD premieres of Son of Frankenstein (1939), The Ghost of Frankenstein (1942), Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943), House of Frankenstein (1944) and House of Dracula (1945), as well as a new Universal disc for Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948), in addition to the previously-released discs of Frankenstein (1931) and The Bride of Frankenstein (1935). Extras include existing audio commentaries and featurettes for Frankenstein, The Bride of Frankenstein and Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, as well as theatrical trailers.

Also coming to 4K UHD from Universal is The Wolf Man: Complete Legacy Collection (1935-1948), a four-disc set including the 4K UHD premieres of Werewolf of London (1935), Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943), House of Frankenstein (1944), House of Dracula (1945) and She-Wolf of London (1946), as well as a new Universal disc for Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948) and the previously-released disc of The Wolf Man (1941). Extras include existing audio commentaries and featurettes for The Wolf Man and Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, as well as theatrical trailers.

Staying with catalog titles, the Warner Archive Collection has four more coming to Blu-ray. They are:

Edgar Selwyn's Skyscraper Souls (1932), starring Warren William, Maureen O'Sullivan, Gregory Ratoff, Anita Page, Verree Teasdale and Norman Foster. Sourced from new 4K scans of best preservation elements, Warner Archive presents Skyscraper Souls with DTS-HD MA 2.0 Mono audio. Extras include the MGM short film Snow Birds, the Looney Tunes cartoon Bosko and Bruno (both 1932) and the WB Vitaphone short Rambling 'Round Radio Row (#7) (1933).

Lloyd Bacon's Marked Woman (1937), starring Bette Davis, Humphrey Bogart, Isabel Jewell, Lola Lane, Rosalind Marquis and Mayo Methot. Sourced from a new 4K scan of the original nitrate camera negative, Warner Archive presents Marked Woman with DTS-HD MA 2.0 Mono audio. Extras include the featurette Ripped from the Headlines (2006), the Looney Tunes cartoon Porky's Hero Agency and the Merrie Melodies cartoon She Was an Acrobat's Daughter (both 1937), along with the original theatrical trailer.

Charles Walters' Please Don't Eat the Daisies (1960), starring Doris Day, David Niven, Janis Paige, Spring Byington, Richard Haydn and Patsy Kelly. Sourced from a new 4K scan of the original camera negative, Warner Archive presents Please Don't Eat the Daisies with DTS-HD MA 2.0 Mono audio. Extras include the pilot episode of the Please Don't Eat the Daisies TV series (1965-1967) "My Eldest Child" (1965) and the film's original theatrical trailer.

Herbert Ross' Pennies from Heaven (1981), starring Steve Martin, Bernadette Peters, Christopher Walken, Jessica Harper, Vernel Bagneris and John McMartin. Sourced from a new 4K scan of the original camera negative, Warner Archive presents Pennies from Heaven with DTS-HD MA 2.0 Mono audio. Extras include scene-specific audio commentary with film critic Peter Rainer, a 20th anniversary cast and crew reunion discussion and the original theatrical trailer.

The Brit Noir Collection IV (1954-1955), a two-disc set with Don Chaffey's Time Is My Enemy, starring Dennis Price, Renée Asherson, Patrick Barr, Duncan Lamont, Susan Shaw and Bonar Colleano, Wendy Toye's The Teckman Mystery, starring Margaret Leighton, John Justin, Meier Tzelniker, Michael Medwin, Roland Culver and George Coulouris (both 1954) and Val Guest's They Can't Hang Me (1955), starring Terence Morgan, Yolande Donlan, André Morell, Ursula Howells, Anthony Oliver and Guido Lorraine. Sourced from 4K masters by StudioCanal, Kino's box set includes audio commentary on Time Is My Enemy with film historian Laurene Lerman, audio commentary on The Teckman Mystery with film historian Daniel Kremer and audio commentary on They Can't Hang Me with film historian / writer Julie Kirgo and writer / filmmaker Peter Hankoff.

The Angélique: Complete Five Films Collection (1964-1968), a three-disc set containing five films directed by Bernard Borderie and starring Michèle Mercier: Angélique (Angélique, marquise des anges) (1964), Angélique: The Road to Versailles (Merveilleuse Angélique) (1965), Angélique and the King (Angélique et le Roy) (1966), Untamable Angélique (Indomptable Angélique) (1967) and Angélique and the Sultan (Angélique et le Sultan) (1968). Sourced from 4K masters by StudioCanal, Kino's box set includes audio commentary on Angélique with film historian Tim Lucas, audio commentary on Angélique: The Road to Versailles with film critic Simon Abrams and audio commentary on Untamable Angélique with film historian Samm Deighan.

A remastered Blu-ray and 4K UHD release for Norman Jewison's Jesus Christ Superstar (1973), starring Ted Neeley, Carl Anderson, Yvonne Elliman, Barry Dennen, Josh Mostel and Bob Bingham. Sourced from a new 4K scan of the original camera negative, Kino presents Jesus Christ Superstar with a new 2026 audio mix by musician and engineer Brian Kehew in DTS-HD MA 5.1 or 2.0, the original DTS-HD MA 2.0 Stereo mix and Dolby Vision HDR on the 4K UHD disc. Extras include two new audio commentaries: one with film historian / screenwriter Gary Gerani and another with film critic and author Simon Abrams. Additional extras include an interview with lyricist Tim Rice and a newly-remastered theatrical trailer.

A Blu-ray for Kasi Lemmons' The Caveman's Valentine (2001), starring Samuel L. Jackson, Colm Feore, Ann Magnuson, Damir Andrei, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor and Tamara Tunie. Kino's Blu-ray contains audio commentary with Kasi Lemmons and editor Terilyn A. Shropshire, deleted scenes and a theatrical trailer.

A Blu-ray for Phillip Noyce's Catch a Fire (2006), starring Derek Luke, Tim Robbins, Bonnie Henna, Mncedisi Shabangu, Tumisho Masha and Sithembiso Khumalo. Kino's Blu-ray contains audio commentary with Phillip Noyce, writer Shawn Slovo and actors Tim Robbins, Derek Luke, Bonnie Henna, Robyn Slovo and Patrick Chamusso, as well as deleted scenes and a theatrical trailer.

Coming to Blu-ray and 4K UHD from the Criterion Collection is Satyajit Ray's Days and Nights in the Forest (অরণ্যের দিনরাত্রি) (1970), starring Soumitra Chatterjee, Subhendu Chatterjee, Samit Bhanja, Rabi Ghosh, Sharmila Tagore and Kaberi Bose. Sourced from a new 4K master ("undertaken by The Film Foundation's World Cinema Project at L'Immagine Ritrovata in collaboration with Film Heritage Foundation, Janus Films, and the Criterion Collection"), Criterion presents Days and Nights in the Forest with LPCM Mono audio, newly-translated English subtitles and in SDR on the 4K UHD disc. Extras include an introduction by filmmaker Wes Anderson, a making-of program featuring archival and new interviews with director Satyajit Ray, Sharmila Tagore, Rabi Ghosh and cinematographer Soumendu Roy, a conversation about Ray and the film's restoration featuring Wes Anderson, Sharmila Tagore and Film Heritage Foundation founder-director Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, as well as a trailer for the film. Also included is an essay by film critic Devika Girish.

Also coming to Blu-ray and 4K UHD from Criterion is Three Films by Leos Carax (1984-1991), a three-disc Blu-ray or six-disc 4K UHD box set with Carax's films Boy Meets Girl (1984), starring Denis Lavant, Mireille Perrier, Carroll Brooks, Maïté Nahyr and Christian Cloarec, Mauvais Sang (Bad Blood) (1986), starring Michel Piccoli, Juliette Binoche, Denis Lavant, Hans Meyer, Julie Delpy and Carroll Brooks and The Lovers on the Bridge (Les Amants du Pont-Neuf) (1991), starring Juliette Binoche, Denis Lavant and Klaus Michael Grüber. All three films are sourced from 4K masters, with LPCM Mono (Boy Meets Girl and Mauvais Sang) or DTS-HD MA 5.1 (The Lovers on the Bridge) audio tracks, newly-translated English subtitles and in SDR (Boy Meets Girl and Mauvais Sang) or with Dolby Vision HDR (The Lovers on the Bridge) on the 4K UHD discs. Coming to Blu-ray from Toy Robot Video is Fûtarô Yamada's Ninja Wars (伊賀忍法帖) (1982), starring Hiroyuki Sanada, Jun Miho, Yuki Kazamatsuri, Hiroshi Tanaka, Akira Hamada and Sanji Kojima. Sourced from a 2022 4K master by Kadokawa Pictures, Toy Robot presents Ninja Wars with Japanese: DTS-HD MA 2.0 Mono audio and optional English subtitles. Extras include audio commentary with Jonathan Clements, featurettes with author Matt Alt on the film and with author and academic Daisuke Miyao on the ninja in Japanese cinema, a VHS version of the film and theatrical trailers. Also included on the disc is a text essay by Zack Davisson. Additional content includes art cards.a reversible cover and a slipcover with a cardboard Japanese-Obi-style strip. Sourced from a new 4K master, Disney and 20th Century Studios present Dead Poets Society with Dolby Vision HDR and a new Dolby Atmos audio remix. A legacy Blu-ray copy of the film includes audio commentary with Peter Weir, cinematographer John Seale and writer Tom Schulman, a making of and three additional featurettes, as well as a theatrical trailer. Sourced from a new 4K master, Disney and 20th Century Studios present Mrs. Doubtfire with Dolby Vision HDR and a new Dolby Atmos audio remix. Finally this week, Lionsgate Home Entertainment has a 4K UHD upgrade for Joe Carnahan's Shadow Force (2025), starring Kerry Washington, Omar Sy, Mark Strong, Da'Vine Joy Randolph and Method Man. Released on Blu-ray in July 2025, Lionsgate's 4K UHD edition adds Dolby Vision HDR and retains the film's Dolby Atmos audio. Extras include audio commentary with writer / director Joe Carnahan and editor Kevin Hale, the featurettes Making Shadow Force Ain't Nothing to F*** With, International Waters: The Locations Behind Shadow Force, Isla Gunfight: Final Battle Breakdown and Couples Therapy: Stunts and Weapons Training, as well as a theatrical trailer.
