Blu-ray Sales: September 6-12: Supergirl Soars Above Batman, Minions and Monsters

For the week that ended on September 12th, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Supergirl (2026) topped the Blu-ray-only and overall packaged media charts in its debut. The latest live-action DC Comics film opened in June 2026 to mixed reviews and poor box office, grossing just over $72 million domestically and only about $126 million worldwide (on a reported budget of more than $170 million, before any promotion) to become a box office bomb. Happily, things look better for the film on the home video front, where this week, Supergirl had an HD share of 64% and 28% of units sold from the 4K UHD format, enough to also make it the week's top 4K UHD release.

Debuting in second place on the Blu-ray-only chart is Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Batman: Knightfall – Part 1: Knightfall. The latest direct-to-video animation from DC is the first part of a trilogy, adapting a lengthy story arc in the comics, which ran from 1993-1994. The second part is already available to pre-order. This week, Batman: Knightfall – Part 1: Knightfall sold 60% as many Blu-ray units as Supergirl, with an HD share of 76% and 24% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

And debuting in third place on the Blu-ray-only chart is Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's Minions & Monsters. The third film in the Minions spin-off series (and seventh film in the overall Despicable Me franchise) opened in July 2026 to positive reviews, but while it grossed over $183 million domestically and over $523 million globally (on a reported $85 million budget), that is substantially less than the previous film, Minions: The Rise of Gru, which grossed over $370 million domestically and over $940 million globally back in 2022. This week, Minions & Monsters sold 58% as many Blu-ray units as Supergirl, with an HD share of 53% and 18% of units sold from the 4K UHD format.

Elsewhere on the charts, the Warner Archive Collection's Blu-ray of the Looney Tunes Collector's Vault: Volume 3 (1930-1960) came in at No. 9 on the Blu-ray-only chart, while outside the top ten, new label Toy Robot Video's Blu-ray of The Guyver 2: Dark Hero came in at No. 14 and a 60th anniversary re-packaging for Paramount Home Media Distribution's Blu-rays of Star Trek: The Complete Series (1966-1969) came in at No. 17. Finally, Decal Releasing's Blu-ray of Leviticus debuted at No. 20 to round out the chart.

Elsewhere on the 4K UHD chart, the new Criterion Collection edition of 12 Angry Men 4K (1957) came in at No. 17.
